In one of our news articles, we recently reported on Amazon Global Logistics. We have now taken this as an opportunity to inform you in more detail about the program. Accordingly, we will first answer the question of what Amazon Global Logistics actually is. In addition, we will show you the first steps in the registration process. Furthermore, we highlight the different shipping methods and give an overview of how long shipping takes in different constellations.
Amazon Global Logistics is especially interesting for those of you who like to ship their goods all over the world. The starting point is always China. Sellers with manufacturing sites in this country are accordingly predestined for the program. Amazon then sends your goods from China to logistics centers all over the world. The shipment creation works exactly the same way as for a normal shipment. The difference, however, is that you have to submit documentation that entitles you to cross-range. You also have to pay various customs duties and fees.
First, you need to create an Amazon Global Logistics profile here. Then you need to specify which payment method you prefer. You also need to select an importer. You will need this for customs purposes. For transportation, you will also need an exporter, whose contact details you will also need to provide. You can then start the shipment in Seller Central by clicking on "Send/add stock". If you have any questions about registering with Amazon Global Logistics, just drop us a line!
The first shipping method at Amazon Global Logistics is transport by sea. In the area of sea freight, you can also choose between a full load and a partial load. This specifies how much the containers should be filled. The second method of shipment is a transport as air freight. By the way, there are recent changes in the prices for sea freight. You can find information about this in this article.
The transportation time depends on the shipping location, destination and the type of shipment. For example, air freight from China usually takes 7 days. For sea freight with a container part load, the transport time varies between 42 and 50 days. A full load, in turn, takes between 36 and 44 days.
