Dietary supplements on Amazon: These requirements now apply

In order to always comply with all current guidelines on Amazon, sellers must always stay up to date. So that you don't spend too much time on this, we would like to support you and inform you in this blog when there is news that is important for sellers. Accordingly, this week we want to make you aware of the new requirements for dietary supplements on Amazon. In addition, the fees for multi-channel shipping have changed. In addition, there are new options for tracking shipments.

What are the new requirements for dietary supplements on Amazon?

The new requirements for dietary supplements on Amazon are primarily about safety. This is because there is some risk associated with some of these products. Accordingly, Amazon is responsible for protecting shoppers and therefore holds you, the seller, accountable as well. Previously, high risk supplements had to comply with the guidelines of the respective countries, the European Union and the in-house requirements. Recently, sellers who offer the relevant products must also provide safety and compliance documentation from all suppliers and sales partners. Depending on the mode of action, Amazon may also require safe manufacturing documentation. So if you sell dietary supplements, you should check to see if you might have to comply with the new requirements. If not, Amazon will remove the affected products starting this month. You can check your items in Seller Central. There you can also upload the missing documents.

Fees for multi-channel shipping

After no changes to its multi-channel shipping fees for the past 24 months, Amazon has now announced that it will be increasing its fees this month. Accordingly, starting November 20, 2021, shipping fees will increase by approximately 10 percent. This applies to the following shipping methods:

  • Standard
  • Standard EFN
  • Express
  • Express EFN

If you have any questions about how the fee changes will specifically affect your shipping, feel free to drop us a line.

New tracking option

As of now, there is a new option that you can access when tracking shipments. This is the "Shipment tracking details". If you use an external transport service, you can now enter additional details about this service provider. This means you no longer have to specify yourself whether an item has been shipped. Instead, Amazon will now do this for you.

That brings us to the end of this week's most important Amazon news. Do you also have questions about the new requirements for dietary supplements on Amazon or would you like to learn more about multi-channel shipping? We will be happy to provide you with advice and support in this regard. Just send us a message - without any obligation, of course.
